As part of its continued commitment to promoting impact-led initiatives, Sage Grey Finance Limited a CBN-licensed financial institution, held the second edition of its Undergraduate Scholarship Programme Award Ceremony at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). The event, which took place on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, brought together senior university officials, faculty deans, student representatives, members of the inaugural cohort, and the five newly selected beneficiaries of the 2026 programme.

The occasion marked a significant step forward in Sage Grey Finance’s commitment to investing in the future of Nigerian youth through education. Speaking at the event, Mr. Taiwo Olutunda, Impact Officer at Sage Grey Finance Limited, represented the Managing Director and delivered a keynote address reaffirming the company’s vision for the programme. He stated: “This scholarship is not merely a financial award; it is a vote of confidence in your potential. It is an affirmation that excellence is recognized and rewarded. We encourage you to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to continuous learning. The world you are preparing to enter is highly competitive and rapidly evolving. The Sage Grey Finance Undergraduate Scholarship Programme is an annual initiative designed to recognise and reward academic excellence among high-performing students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions. Targeting full-time second-year undergraduate students studying designated courses in Engineering and Management Sciences, this edition provides a financial grant of ₦100,000 to each selected beneficiary, renewable annually for the duration of their academic journey. Eligibility requires a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0, and applicants already benefiting from other scholarship schemes are excluded from consideration.

The five outstanding students selected for the 2026 Sage Grey Finance Undergraduate Scholarship Award: Komolafe Olajide Abul Ramon, Shittu Mumeen Olabisi, Ejimofor Chigozirim Serena, Lampejo Eniola Sarah, and Bassey Abraham Bassey represents the highest-performing undergraduates across the Faculties of Engineering and Management Sciences at the University of Lagos.

Mr. Olutunda further noted the vital role of UNILAG’s Guidance and Counselling Unit in the programme’s continued success: “We sincerely appreciate the management of the University of Lagos and, in particular, the Guidance and Counselling Unit for the collaborative relationship we have continued to maintain. This partnership demonstrates what can be achieved when institutions work together with a shared vision for youth empowerment and educational advancement.

Sage Grey Finance Limited views its scholarship initiative as a strategic contribution toward building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria. Building on the encouraging outcomes of the inaugural 2025 cohort, Sage Grey Finance has indicated plans to continue expanding the programme in subsequent academic sessions, with a view to reaching more deserving students across Nigeria’s public tertiary institutions.
