Profile
Ifeyinwa Maureen Ucheaga is the Head, Legal & Strategy at Sage Grey Finance Limited, where she provides strategic leadership across Legal, Corporate Governance, Research, Strategy, Enterprise Risk Management, Impact & Investor Relations, Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility. She works closely with the Board, Board Committees, executive management, regulators, investors, development finance institutions and other stakeholders, providing legal, governance, regulatory, and strategic advisory support to drive institutional growth and effective decision-making.
She brings over 10 years of experience across legal practice, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management and debt and equity financing, with exposure to development finance institutions, government agencies and institutional investors across financial services, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing.
She joined Sage Grey in 2018 as an Analyst, Legal & Research, prior to the Company’s transition into a CBN-licensed finance company, and has progressed through several strategic roles to her current position. She previously practised law across Lagos-based firms in litigation, dispute resolution and corporate structuring.
At Sage Grey Finance, she has advised on and supported the execution of significant financing and investment transactions across multiple sectors, including a greenfield gas processing project that successfully raised US$16.65 million in equity and ₦31 billion in debt financing. She has also supported the financing of power, infrastructure, recycling, manufacturing and energy projects, including a ₦650 million debt financing and an US$11 million equity raise. In addition to transaction advisory, she has led the development and implementation of corporate governance and enterprise risk management frameworks, regulatory and institutional engagements and impact finance initiatives aligned with responsible investment and sustainable development objectives.
She holds an LL.B (Hons) degree from Madonna University, Okija, and a Bachelor of Laws (B.L.) from the Nigerian Law School. She is currently pursuing an LL.M at the University of Lagos. She is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and has undertaken professional training in credit analysis, financial analysis, company secretarial practice, regulatory compliance and credit risk management, including programmes with the Finance Houses Association of Nigeria, DCSL Corporate Services Limited, KRC Limited, Tekedia Institute and CRC Credit Bureau. She is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria.
